Photos show Soft White Textured Linen fabric in various sizes and hardware finishes. This listing is for brass euro fitter hardware.

This lush white linen lampshade is one of my most requested. I was very careful to select a fabric that isn't 'just plain white'. This fabric is a slightly warm linen with a beautiful, classic texture that glows when lit. The color is not too yellow, not too stark - warm enough to work with vintage lamps and crisp enough to work in contemporary modern homes. Handmade with care in Madison, Wisconsin, this lampshade will elevate your bedroom, living room, or any cozy corner of your home.

PLEASE NOTE: When checking out, please include three things in the Special Instructions box at checkout.

  1. The Fitter Size: Do you need a small, standard or large euro fitter*?
  2. The Location of the Hardware: Will the shade attach at the top or bottom?
  3. The Drop Height Measurement**: How far will the hardware be recessed into the shade?

*To find out which size is right for your lamp, here's how to check.

**The HARDWARE DROP is most commonly between 0"-3", but unlike spider ring hardware, there is no standard for euro fitters. This is a highly custom measurement. If you choose the wrong drop height, your shade will not sit at the correct height on the lamp.

For more information about measuring the drop on your current lamp shade, please visit my Drop Height blog post.

PRO TIP FOR LIGHT BULBS
For optimal performance, choose your bulb based on your shade size and not on what your lamp base can handle.

LEDs emit less heat than incandescent bulbs, but heat output is not the only thing that affects the well-being of your shade. Lumen output can affect how quickly a shade yellows with time.

'Wattage' is the measurement of energy used, and 'lumens' are the measurement of light output. The light bulb's lumen output is how we determine wattage equivalents. For example, a 60W incandescent light bulb and a 60W equivalent LED light bulb use different wattage but both give off a minimum of 800 lumens of light. Lumen output can affect a lampshade over time, and the higher the light bulb wattage/lumen output, the larger shade you should use.

The smaller the shade, the nearer it is to the light bulb, so I recommend not using more than a 40W equivalent on a 9 in. diameter shade.
