Made of cotton cord with real jasper stones around the middle and a suspended top bead, this one-of-a-kind tassel makes a wonderfully special gift for your hard-to-shop-for friend.
You can wrap this around a bottle of wine for a sweet hostess gift or girlfriend gift. You can also include it in a gift basket with a candle and their favorite spa products. This tassel is perfect for hanging from your bedroom door knob. Or, if you have a long hallway with lots of doors, hang it on the bathroom door so you have an easy way to tell guests which door leads to the bathroom. I have one hanging on my basement door to help dress up my boring hallway, but you can also hang tassels from curio cabinet keys, knobs, or from blanket ladder rungs.
This collection of tassels is inspired by the beautiful work of one of my favorite designers - Nanna Ditzel. Nanna Ditzel was a furniture, jewelry, and textile designer. In 1965, she created a fabric that is still popular today, Hallingdal 65. Made of a blend of wool and viscose, Hallingdal fabric features vivant and unexpected color combinations that rely on visual color mixing (two colors next to each other that create a sort of optical illusion when looked at from further away). I was inspired by the brilliance of her color pairings - blending a bold color with a calm color to find the sweet spot in the middle, or pairing opposites on the color wheel for a striking, yet almost neutral color result.
In making my collection, I blended individual fibers together to manipulate how the colors are perceived. Pairing red with pink to make the pink look more vibrant; pairing cool grey with soft pink to imply a purple range; and the pairing I'm most proud of, pairing primary colors to elude to rich browns. I hope you enjoy the final results of these explorations.

Top bead - bubble gum pink with warm grey flecks
Tassels can be brushed with a comb or trimmed with a scissors if needed in the future.
