Images show lamp shade in Dupioni Silk in Ivory. Hardware image shows the euro fitter hardware in brass on a 15"D Calacatta Gold Flax fabric lamp shade with a 1" drop. This listing is for the silk fabric with euro fitter hardware.

PLEASE NOTE: INCLUDE IN YOUR ORDER COMMENTS THE HARDWARE DROP HEIGHT. THE DROP MOST COMMONLY CAN BE BETWEEN 0" - 3", BUT IT DEPENDS ON THE LAMP AND THE SIZE OF THE SHADE. EVERY LAMP CAN BE DIFFERENT. THE DROP CAN BE A WHOLE INCH OR 1/2 INCH MEASUREMENT. IF YOU CHOOSE THE WRONG DROP HEIGHT, YOUR SHADE WILL NOT SIT AT THE CORRECT HEIGHT ON THE LAMP.

The hardware drop is how deep the hardware is recessed into the shade as measured from the edge of the shade. Spider rings have an industry standard of a 1/2" drop. Euro fitter and uno fitter rings do not have a standard as each shade is designed to compliment the needs of it's specific lamp. For more information about measuring the drop on your current lamp shade, please visit my blog post here.

Back by popular demand! When I started making shades over 15 years ago now (sheesh!), this was the fabric I started with. I had no idea it was actually one of the most difficult fabrics to work with until a couple years later when I started experimenting with other fabrics. The outcome is definitely worth the extra care involved with working with this delicate fabric. I always look for good visual texture in the fabrics I pick for my shades, and this fabric is no exception. After all these years, it is still one of my favorite fabrics when lit. It has a lovely glow and a great nubby texture.

This shade comes standard with a white triangle stitch detail at the seam.

Pro Tip: For optimal performance, choose your bulb based on your shade size and not on what your lamp base can handle.

While LEDs emit less heat than the old incandescent bulbs, heat output is not the only thing that affects the well-being of your shade. Lumen output can still have an affect on how quickly a shade yellows with time. A larger shade can handle a higher wattage (or lumen output) bulb, and a smaller shade can handle a lower wattage bulb

Lumen output is how we determine wattage equivalents. A 60W incandescent light bulb that uses 60 watts of power gives off a minimum of 800 lumens of light. A 60W equivalent LED light bulb also gives off a minimum of 800 lumens. This lumen output can still affect a lampshade over time, even if we don't see any immediate damage being done and it never gets warm. I recommend not using more than a 40W equivalent on a 9 in. diameter shade.
